We are back again to celebrate the New Year of 2026! Chinatown Run Club and RUNFLY celebrated with the community and indulged in the year of the fire horse.
Hosting an auspicious 8km social run through Sydney’s Chinatown on the morning of Sunday the 15th of March at 8am.
Our annual LNY events are always super special to the Chinatown Run Club community as it is a chance to celebrate the rich culture within our community. Sharing the culture and importance of LNY for many of the Asian-Australians, the LNY activations are always the one to look out to for our calendar years. Sharing the importance of family, community and shared culture such as food.
This year for the year of the fire horse, we hosted an array of activations for the day such as the usual 8km social run through Chinatown. The activation also included limited edition merchandise designed by Asian-Australian artist Fan Yi Qi and the ‘Let’s Trot’ art exhibition presenting works from Andrew Yee, Chris Yee, Fan Yi Qi, Sethana Meyes and Mitchell Tran.
We invited people to write their new year resolutions on tree of fortune and shared the tradition of gifting red envelopes as sticker packs
